About the role
Dootrix is looking for a support professional with a strong background in Azure and DevOps practices.
You will be responsible for maintaining and supporting delivered projects, ensuring that Azure infrastructure, codebases, and monitoring systems remain up to date and efficient.
This is a great opportunity for an independent problem solver with DevOps experience, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise, and proficiency in Azure. You will be working closely with our engineering teams to ensure platform stability, security, and cost efficiency.
You’ll be joining our Managed Services team, primarily working remotely or, if preferred, from one of our hubs in either Manchester or Whiteley (Hampshire). The role includes out-of-hours on-call responsibilities.
What you’ll be doing
- Maintain and support delivered projects for clients, ensuring platform stability and performance.
- Keep Azure infrastructure and codebases up to date in-line with Microsoft recommendations.
- Manage alerts, monitoring systems, and cost optimisation within Azure.
- Update platforms to meet minimum version and security compliance requirements.
- Working with 3rd Line to diagnose and fix issues as they appear.
- Assist in maintaining automation scripts and deployment pipelines.
- Work with DevOps tools and Infrastructure as Code (Arm, Bicep, YAML).
- Manage incidents and ensure timely resolution to SLA.
- Handle change management processes and ensure smooth implementations.
- Participate in major incident response processes.
- Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rotation.

What you’ll need
- Experience administering and managing PasS Microsoft Azure environments.
- An understanding of DevOps practices and infrastructure management.
- Familiarity with scripting or lightweight coding for automation (e.g., PowerShell or Bash).
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience using Arm, Bicep, or similar.
- An understanding of API concepts, including RESTful services, authentication and data formats (e.g. JSON, XML)

- Experience working with Jira Service Management.
- Azure Certifications (AZ-104 or AZ-900).

About the Role
As a Lead Software Engineer specializing in modern web technologies, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable, and user-friendly web applications.
While your focus will be web technologies, experience or an interest in CI/CD, Mobile Development and Cloud platforms, particularly Azure, will be advantageous.
This lead position will allow you to be a key figure in defining our approach to web tech and the skills, people, and processes we need to succeed.

What you’ll be doing
- Leading the design, development, and delivery of modern web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript, on the front and backend as well as crafting great CSS.

About the Role
Dootrix is looking for a Lead Software Engineer with strong experience delivering in Azure Cloud to join our established engineering team and help deliver innovative, forward-thinking systems and solutions for some of the UK's most exciting companies and start-ups.
You will have a broad technical knowledge (with depth in Azure and .NET) that assists you in making project and architectural decisions. You will also have the interpersonal skills to interact with clients, stakeholders, developers, designers and testers.
You will have experience of developing secure, performant and standards compliant solutions. Willing and able to get involved directly with code but also to direct, architect, review and evaluate new technology. This will involve balancing risk, scope, cost and quality.

What you’ll be doing
- Consulting, architecting and developing on an engaging mix of greenfield and progression projects
- Acting as the technical leader on software discovery, design and build projects – involved in requirements analysis, solution architecture / design, technology research, code development / review and documentation
- Engaging in our multi-disciplinary environment with all departments in our and our client’s businesses
- Advocating for new solutions and best practice in technology outcomes and process
What you’ll bring
We are looking primarily for Azure PaaS architecture experience however our Leads often operate across large scale solutions in the following technologies - so experience in the following is beneficial:
- A strong foundation in DevOps culture, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD (we use Azure DevOps) and TDD
- Azure and AWS PaaS components are our default choice for compute, API, Data Solutions, and security, monitoring and resiliency concerns
- Our backend services use .NET Core and NodeJS hosted in PaaS and FaaS components
- Xamarin is our preferred choice for cross platform mobile projects
- React, Typescript and Electron have become our go to for web frontend and desktop software
What you’ll need
- Proven experience as a senior or lead software engineer specialising in web technologies with a track record of developing and delivering successful projects.
- Hands-on experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Proficiency in testing frameworks and building automation tools to ensure high-quality releases.
- Familiarity with design systems and the ability to implement them to maintain consistency across applications.
- A strong understanding of UI/UX best practices and the ability to work effectively with designers.
You should also have
- A passion for technology, exploring new and innovative ways of working
- Experience leading and building enterprise software projects hosted in the Cloud
- The ability to analyse business requirements and discuss technical solutions with project stakeholders
- Strong technical writing skills
- Communication and collaboration skills to engage clients in pre-sales and consult with our client’s technical representatives
